H Story depicts, on the one hand, the shooting of a remake of the film Hiroshima mon amour (Alain Resnais, 1959), and on the other reveals the impossibility of such a thing. This attempt by one film to imitate another, which it is incapable of doing, thus derives from variations into re-writing the source film. Béatrice Dalle and Caroline Champetier, the cinematographer, come to attend Suwa in this delicate pageant. An impossible remake will give way to a captivating film experience around Béatrice Dalle.
