Synopsis

Une ville d’Asie en pleine expansion, au centre une tour phallique symbolise la consommation et l’excès d’une société anonyme. Et dans cette ville, des histoires particulières, celles de tout un chacun : une grand-mère qui meurt, une femme divorcée qui ne veut plus s’occuper de son enfant devenu adolescent, un père anxieux de mettre son fils au travail alors que celui-ci ne pense qu’à vivre sans travailler… Le film est construit en tableaux. Et chaque tableau est traité sous une forme métaphorique. Des strates d’humanités qui se transforment en un poème surréaliste.

In the middle of an overcrowded Asian metropolis undergoing explosive development a unique tower reflects ideals of consumption and excess. In this city, a singular destiny of the so-called everyman could reflect anyone’s life: a dying grand-mother, a divorced woman and her teenager child, an anxious father that wants his son to earn his own living, a teenager dreaming of not having to work… The film is divided in segments. And each segment is treated as a metaphorical. Magma of images, strata of humanity are taken up in a surreal poem of urban living.
