Synopsis

Eulidio se souvient de l’histoire presque oubliée des travailleurs contractuels mozambicains en Allemagne de l’Est (RDA). La fondation d’une famille leur était interdite. Sa fille Sarah a grandi seule avec sa mère à Berlin. Aujourd’hui, Sarah souhaite que sa fille ait les relations qui lui ont manqué dans son enfance. Elle part en Afrique où son père et le père de l’enfant l’attendent.

Based in South Africa, Eulidio remembers the almost forgotten history of the Mozambican contract workers in East Germany. Her daughter Sarah grew up alone with her mother in Berlin. Today, she wants her daughter to have the relationships she missed so much in her childhood. She goes to Africa where her father and the father of the child are waiting for her.

Brenda Akele Jorde étudie la réalisation de films documentaires à l’Université du cinéma Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. The Homes We Carry est son premier long métrage documentaire et son projet de film de maîtrise à l’Université. Elle a également étudié et travaillé dans des institutions culturelles en France, au Chili et en Australie.
